The Vision
What if French were not an end in itself, but a tool for development? FLE+ proposes to transform French as a Foreign Language teaching by going beyond simple linguistic mastery.
Our conviction: French can become a catalyst for developing essential transversal competencies: critical thinking, resilience, collaboration, creativity.
Key Principles
- Learner-centered: Students actively construct their knowledge
- Group work: Collaborative learning as the norm
- Oral priority: Spoken interaction as the main modality
- Fiction as catalyst: Literary scenarios generate essential questions
- Open architecture: A collaborative model inspired by Linux
The 4 Learning Pathways
What can French teaching really be used for? We propose 4 complementary pathways that learners can explore according to their needs:
1. Tool for Metalinguistic Awareness
Better understand one's mother tongue (German) and other languages (English) through comparison. Explore how each language structures thought differently.
2. Tool for Personal Development
Develop tolerance for ambiguity, resilience in the face of imperfection, and confidence in adversity. French as a laboratory for overcoming fear of judgment.
3. Communication Tool
Master communicative skills to interact effectively in French, according to the traditional approach but reinvented.
4. Tool for National Cohesion
For German-speaking Swiss: understanding French speakers as an integral part of the Swiss "us". French as an internal intercultural bridge, to overcome the Röstigraben.
